Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using PocketMoney, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What PocketMoney is

PocketMoney is an AI assistant you message to organize money, on your own or between people, such as checking a purchase against your budget, tracking goals, and splitting shared costs. Features may change as we build.

3. Early access and beta

PocketMoney is in an early stage. Features may be incomplete, change, or be unavailable at times, and data handling may evolve as the product matures. We will give reasonable notice of material changes.

4. Not financial advice

PocketMoney helps you organize and decide, but it is not a financial advisor, broker, or fiduciary, and it does not provide professional financial, tax, or legal advice. Information you receive is for general informational purposes only. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

5. AI and accuracy

PocketMoney uses AI to understand your messages and respond. The money calculations, splits, balances, and limits, are performed by our own software, but conversational responses may occasionally contain errors or be incomplete. Please verify important numbers before you act on them, and do not rely on PocketMoney as your sole source for any significant financial decision.

6. Your account and conduct

• You must be at least 18 years old to use PocketMoney.
• Keep your access secure and the information you give us accurate.
• Do not misuse the service, attempt to break it, or use it for unlawful activity.
• Only share another person's information with their consent.

7. Connecting a bank account

If you choose to connect a bank account, you do so through Plaid, a third-party provider, and your use of that connection is also subject to Plaid's own terms and privacy policy.

• PocketMoney receives read-only access to the financial information needed to power features you ask for.
• PocketMoney cannot move, transfer, or withdraw your money.
• We never receive or store your bank login credentials.
• You can disconnect a linked account at any time from Settings.

8. SMS messaging program

• Program: PocketMoney (the "PocketMoney" messaging program) sends conversational text messages to help you manage and coordinate money — for example, confirming a shared-cost split, checking a purchase against your budget, savings and goal updates, and early-access notifications.
• How to opt in: You consent to receive texts by submitting your phone number and checking the consent box on the early-access form at trypocketmoney.com. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
• Message frequency: Message frequency varies and depends on your interaction with PocketMoney; many messages are sent in reply to texts you send us.
• Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
• Opt out: Reply STOP at any time to cancel and stop receiving messages. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again.
• Help: Reply HELP for help, or contact us at seratmahmudsaad@gmail.com.
• Carriers: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• Privacy: Mobile information and consent are never shared with third parties for their marketing. See our Privacy Policy.

9. Subscriptions and payment

PocketMoney offers a free tier and a paid subscription, PocketMoney Pro, billed monthly or yearly. Current pricing is shown in the app and on our website before you buy. New subscribers get a free trial; if you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. You can subscribe in either of two ways:

• On our website. Checkout opens in your browser and is processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We never receive or store your card details. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked in the app's Settings, or by emailing us. If a charge looks wrong, email us and we will sort it out. Refunds are handled case by case.
• Through Apple (In-App Purchase). Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You manage and cancel it in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds for Apple purchases are handled by Apple under its policies.

Either way, subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

We may change pricing, but not for a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before a change affects you.

10. Notifications

PocketMoney shows updates such as replies, reminders, and confirmations of shared costs inside the app, and can send some of them by email. You can control notification preferences in the app's Settings.

11. Privacy

Your use of PocketMoney is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

12. Intellectual property

PocketMoney, including its software, branding, and content, belongs to us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You keep ownership of the content and information you provide.

13. App stores

If you obtained PocketMoney through the Apple App Store, your use of the app is also subject to Apple's terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support, is a third-party beneficiary of these terms, and may enforce them.

14. Termination

You may stop using PocketMoney at any time, and you can delete your account from inside the app under Settings, or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or misuse the service. On termination, your right to use the service ends, and we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Liability

PocketMoney is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for losses arising from your reliance on the service or from decisions you make using it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you cannot waive under applicable law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

17. Changes

We may update these terms as PocketMoney grows. If we make material changes, we will let you know, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
